Come back to chemistry class in this free Front Row lecture, where Scripps Research professor Ryan Shenvi will explore how modern chemical synthesis can be aided by computers at multiple levels, from design to execution in a laboratory. Asian American Dance Festival (Community Day)
Last year's Community Day was a blast! Dancers of all ages came together, both performing on stage and dancing in the audience. There was Hula, Tahitian dance, Chinese dance, Vietnamese dance, Classical Indian dance, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, breaking, k-pop and more! Audience tried out some new moves, and we even raffled off some AADF logo merch.
For AADF2026 Community Day, we once again invite local AAPI student and community artists to share short dance pieces alongside cultural dance troupes. Our goal is to make sure we represent the broad diversity of the Asian and Pacific Islander diaspora. Dance artists are also invited to offer classes from the stage for audiences to participate in. Taking place at City Heights Performance Annex and its adjacent park, organizations and businesses are welcome to set-up booths to distribute information and/or offer family friendly activities.
Planned as an all-day free event, bring a blanket, beach chair, picnic lunch, and enjoy the day with us!
Hillcrest CityFest (Art, Music, Food)
Get ready for San Diego’s largest and most vibrant arts and music festival at Hillcrest CityFest. This day-to-night celebration fills the streets with live music, DJ sets, street performers, and over 250 vendors offering everything from handcrafted art to delicious local eats. Parking is available throughout the neighborhood at many private lots and on the street. Remote and free parking is available at the San Diego School District Offices at Washington and Campus Streets and at the DMV at Cleveland and Lincoln Streets, and the US Post Office on Sundays.
Tiki Oasis (Festival)

Artwalk at Liberty Station

PBK 2026 Love of Learning Grants Application
The Love of Learning Grant was established in honor of the Phi Beta Kappa motto, “love of learning is the guide to life.” This grant program was designed to provide funds to our members who wish to pursue endeavors to continue lifelong learning and advance in their professions. The Society will issue a limited number of grants of up to $350 to Phi Beta Kappa members to support their pursuit of professional development. Grants will be awarded by lottery.
This grant funding can be used for:
Graduate school application fees
Fees for exams, courses, trainings, and certifications
Annual membership dues for professional associations
Conference, seminar, or workshop registration
Grant funding can NOT be used for:
ΦBK Association events or membership
Food, beverage, travel, or boarding expenses
Tuition, classes for credit, required research, study abroad programs, or other student fees
Supplies (computers, apps or programs, business cards, headshots)
Reimbursements for purchases made before July 1, 2026
The deadline to apply for the 2026 cycle is June 1, 2026
Incubator Lab (Dance)
Most of what makes a dance never makes it to the stage. Incubator Lab pulls back the curtain on the part audiences rarely get to see: the search. The drafts. The detours. The moment a phrase doesn’t work, and the next moment when it suddenly does. This is TRBP’s process-focused creation residency, designed to give artists protected time and space to explore ideas, experiment, and develop work-in-progress with curiosity at the center.
